The Center for Rural Development The Center for Rural Development - is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is improving the quality of life for individuals in its 42- county service region in Southern and Eastern Kentucky by providing leadership that stimulates innovative and sustainable economic development solutions. The Center serves rural Kentucky through a variety of development programs including planning, education, public safety, cultural events and telecommunications technology and by providing user-friendly meeting/convention space. SEKTDA – The Southern and Eastern Kentucky Tourism Development Association – is a non-profit organization created to promote, expand, develop and market the existing and potential tourism industry throughout Southern and Eastern Kentucky in a effort to contribute to the economic and cultural growth of the region. KY Pride PRIDE – Personal Responsibility In a Desirable Environment – is an environmental organization designed to clean the region’s waterways and end illegal trash dumps in the region. PRIDE brings together volunteers with resources of federal, state and local governments to promote environmental awareness and education to teach the region’s children to keep it clean in the future. The National Institute for Hometown Security The National Institute for Hometown Security is a non-profit organization that seeks and engages research and development opportunities that address homeland security issues in the Fifth Congressional District of Kentucky. The organization also assists with the commercialization of homeland security solutions resulting from the research. (website link)
Operation UNITE
